Information for Parents/Carer:

Hunter River High School provides an opportunity for students entering Year 7 in 2020 to be part of an Academic Enrichment Program.  Students will need to develop their own strengths, undertake challenging activities, have opportunities for creative activity and student initiated activities and they are encouraged to achieve excellence.

2020 Enrichment Application

Selection for this class is listed below:

  • Standardised Exam: Completing a G.A.T. (General Achievement Test)
  • Literacy/Numeracy:  Completing a one hour exam
  • Optional (Photocopies only
    - One sample of any other work chosen by the student 
  • Profile:  Completion of a profile sheet by their classroom teacher 

Selection criteria used to determine class placement:

  • High level of literacy and numeracy skills;
  • Sound research skills, including library and internet skills;
  • High level of self-motivation;
  • Positive attitudes to school and learning, including homework;
  • Ability to work in a team in learning situations;
  • Positive behaviours which enhance learning;
  • High levels of creativity evident in learning tasks and
  • Strong academic performance across a range of subjects.
